Skater Bio: They often warn "don't judge a book by its cover" and that advice would serve you well when you cross paths with Vanessa Velocity. From the outside Vanessa looks your normal beautiful 20 year old girl; but under that sweet exterior lies an ever-growing darkness and passion that screams from within. Vanessa was raised as a sweet little girl who always aimed to please. She never spoke an unkind word, wrinkled her frilly dress or caused any sort trouble. Though the latter is true, from the time she was young Vanessa knew that something inside her wanted more; it wasn't until four years ago on a stormy monsoon-filled night, that Vanessa was woken from a dead sleep with the uncontrollable urge to scribble something in her diary, four words that today are her mantra; "I wanna go fast!" That night marked the end of the sweet girl we all once knew and ushered in an era of absolute upheaval and chaos for all who tried to slow her down. Out of her inner darkness came a girl who would race around on her skates knocking over little old ladies in the grocery store parking lot. She also became notoriously known for flying by speed cameras and causally blowing them a kiss as her picture is snapped. Boys who try to keep up with Vanessa soon realize that you can't run with a tornado, nor can you contain it and their better judgment said get out of the path of destruction. Vanessa slowed down for no one. It wasn't until a brightly colored poster with the words, "Live Fast, Die Pretty" caught her eye as she flew by, that Vanessa was stopped right in her tracks. Her curiosity was peaked. That poster led her to the Arizona Derby Dames. Much to her surprise she found a group of girls who shared in her desires to play by a different set of rules. To live fast and die pretty. Vanessa was assigned to the newest team being formed, The Runaway Brides. Her speed, tenacity and complete lack of restraint helped lead The Brides to the 2008 Championship bout and eventual title. However, now a Schoolyard Scrapper, don't think Arizona Derby Dames has helped Vanessa calm her wild ways; nothing is further from the truth. Always look behind you in the parking lot and never step in front of the tornado as it comes at you. As her surname is defined, velocity is the rate of speed of an action or occurrence; and if you're not paying attention you will get hurt.
